Minister of Portfolio, Jean-Lucien Bussa, has decided to suspend, with immediate effect, Congo Airways CEO José Lueya Dubier and his deputy, Marie Ponsthi Lobo. This measure was made official by a ministerial decree of October 4, 2024.
This suspension comes in a context marked by an audit mission launched by the Minister within the public company. Although the details of the results of this audit have not yet been made public, they must have played a decisive role in Jean-Lucien Bussa's decision.
To temporarily compensate for the absence of the suspended executives, the Minister has formed a transition team, comprising a project manager and two deputies, who will work closely with the board of directors of Congo Airways. This measure aims to ensure the continuity of the company's operations and to preserve the confidence of the public and economic partners.
Under the leadership of the new temporary team, industry observers expect significant changes within this aviation company, in the hope of revitalizing this vital company for air transport in the DRC.
