At the head of BGFIBank Gabon since September 9, 2019, following his appointment at the August 6 board meeting, Loukoumanou Waïdi decided, for personal reasons, to resign from his position as general manager of the local subsidiary of the Holding BGFIBank.
After four years at the head of the top management of BGFIbank Gabon, Loukoumanou Waïdi decided, on May 31, to throw in the towel and give up the apron. According to an official note from the banking establishment, this decision is for reasons of “personal convenience”. An act that questions the real motivations of the person concerned.
We remember that in 2021, under the management of the 59-year-old financier, despite the difficult health context, BGFIBank Gabon lived up to the ambitions of the BGFIBank Group by achieving a historic financial result, up 114% at the end of the year 2020, thanks to the commitment of its entire team.
Pending the appointment of a new general manager, the activities of the bank, which represents more than 40% of the group's income in 2019, are led by the 2 deputy general managers. They are Habib Simon Mapangou-Ma-Kombila, Deputy Managing Director in charge of the Operational division, and Germaine Nguenkam Tchokomelieu Nanfa, Deputy Managing Director in charge of the Support division.
Before taking over the management of the Gabonese subsidiary of BGFIBank, the native of Port-Gentil spent four years at the head of the Cameroonian subsidiary of the pan-African banking group with, to his credit, a total balance sheet which increased by 16.6 % to stand at 316 billion CFA francs between 2016 and 2018. For its part, the profit jumped by 73.9% over the period, reaching 8 billion in 2018.
Loukoumanou Waïdi is a graduate of the polytechnic school of Masuku in Franceville and of the Institute of Economy and Finance of Libreville (IEF).
