Gabon, through the Agence gabonaise de développement et de promotion du tourisme et de l’hôtellerie du Gabon, Agatour (Gabonese Agency for the Development and Promotion of Tourism and the Hotel Industry of Gabon, Agatour), is taking part in the "Africa Celebrates" Forum, the work of which opened on October 19 in Addis Ababa, in Ethiopia. An opportunity for the structure headed by Christian Mbina to sell the Gabon destination to investors.
To celebrate the unity of Africa in its diversity, foster integration through its rich cultural heritage, promote intra and inter-African trade and tourism, and encourage Africans and the rest of the world to prioritize food, clothing and “Made in Africa” music. These are the objectives of the “Africa Celebrates” Forum, whose work opened on October 19 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Gabon is represented at this event by the Agence gabonaise de développement et de promotion du tourisme et de l’hôtellerie du Gabon, Agatour (Gabonese Agency for the Development and Promotion of Tourism and the Hotel Industry of Gabon, Agatour).
During his speech, after reminding the audience of President Ali Bongo's commitment to making tourism a sector for the diversification of our country's economy, and commending the leadership of the Gabonese Minister of Tourism, the Director General of Agatour led a communication on the opportunities to invest in tourism in Gabon. Christian Mbina also participated in a high-level panel on the theme “Achieving African integration through arts, culture, heritage, tourism and business”.
The Africa Celebrates Forum wants to reposition the creative appreciation of culture and craftsmanship in Africa, which can contribute enormously to the development of tourism as an engine of economic growth on the continent. "This great event is a celebration of the uniqueness and diversity of the African offer," said the Ethiopian minister at the opening of the work.
Nasise Chali also spoke sadly about the slow transformation of continental dynamics to appreciate the many opportunities available to stakeholders as a continent. “It is therefore more than necessary to design a common branding and common marketing strategies to position and develop African tourism,” she concluded.
