The ECLOSION publishing house organized its first edition of Dame de Lettres in partnership with CERDOTOLA. A project intended to put knowledge within reach of African women, starting with the little girl. An opportunity to celebrate Women through Literature beyond the symbol of the International Day of March 8.
It is the headquarters of the National Social Security Center (CNPS) in Yaoundé, the political capital of Cameroon, which hosted the first edition of “Dames de Lettres”. A project designed and produced by the ECLOSION publishing house. This event, which was held as a prelude to the 39th edition of International Women's Rights Day, saw significant participation. More than 300 women who responded to this invitation
Among other personalities present, we can cite: Professor Charles Binam Bikoï, Executive Secretary of CERDOTOLA (International Center for Research and Documentation on African Traditions and Languages.), Mekulu Mvondo, the Director General of the CNPS.
For Christelle Noah, the General Director of the ECLOSION publishing house: “Knowledge is found in books and we have had a lot of complaints around the young African, Cameroonian girl. Apparently, people say that they sometimes lack values, they sometimes lack benchmarks. And we thought that we must put the book at the center of the reflection...Because education passes through the book. The young girl's education will be through books. You have seen the conclusions of the Conference. Indeed, the book can save the young girl. The book can save not only young people but also Cameroon and Africa (…) We are very happy to see that the public still responds in large numbers. And above all that the women respected the theme: African outfits. We have succeeded in promoting Cameroonian and African literature.”
Placed under the theme “Can the book save the young girl?” », the meeting gave rise to several fruitful exchanges. It was a question of reflecting on the means of guiding the young girl through the book. The final objective being the emancipation of women through the education of young girls. Apart from the contributions made by experts and other thematic cultural events, Laureates were rewarded.
This first edition, which was like a trial run, turned out to be a masterstroke for the ECLOSION publishing house. Next objective: the organization of a Literary Prize scheduled for next May and the aim of which is to celebrate Cameroonian and African authors.
Based in Yaoundé, the ECLOSION publishing house allows you to be published in all literary genres (novel, poem, essay, etc.) and to have a quality result both in form and content, without neglecting the very important aspect of marketing your work. It works to discover young talents and has a good catalog for children's literature. It publishes on your own, half-account or publisher's account.
