The new Lekki deepwater port will start operations at the end of the first quarter of 2023.
After the completion and delivery of the new Lekki port site in early November, the operationalization phase has begun.
The container terminal at a current capacity is about 2.5 million TEUs per year, in addition, an extension is planned to bring the area of the platform to 1275 hectares, against 218 hectares currently.
Started in 2018, this project required an investment of $1.5 billion.
The port of Lekki, which is among the largest in West Africa. This infrastructure located in Lagos, the economic heart of this West African country, will meet the needs of the country's economic development.
It should generate nearly 200,000 direct and indirect jobs in the years to come.
