The Martyrs Stadium is one of the sites chosen to host Pope Francis' visit to Kinshasa scheduled for January 31 to February 3, 2023, at the invitation of the Head of State.

With this in mind, Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, visited this Thursday, January 5, the sites chosen to host the various activities of the sovereign pontiff, which are in particular the Eucharistic celebrations and other important meetings with young people. and the religious.

On site, the Prime Minister wanted to make sure of the final adjustments that must be made.

The manager of the Stade des Martyrs, Papy Ngoy Kibenze who attended this visit by the Prime Minister, said he was comforted with his team by the visit of Prime Minister Sama Lukonde.

"The Prime Minister has asked us to speed up the work so that the Stade des Martyrs can put on its best dress during the papal visit. That's what we're getting into. We can reassure you that the Stade des Martyrs will be ready to welcome the Sovereign Pontiff,” said Me Papy Ngoy Kibenze, manager of the country's major sports temple.
