On Sunday January 22, 2023, Kimber McDonald drew the wrath of Internet users for having attacked the Beninese activist Kemi Seba on the social network Facebook.

Very early last Sunday, web activists attacked the Beninese activist and pan-Africanist Kemi Seba, accusing him of meddling in the news emanating from the legislative elections, the ballot for which took place on Sunday January 8, 2023.

Indeed, after the final results announced by the Constitutional Court, the party Les Démocrates filed three appeals, one of which was examined and rejected by the Court last Saturday. But government supporters who engage in the war of numbers on social networks accuse Kemi Seba of having mixed in a political affair.

"Broken down, Les Démocrates are recruiting Jean-Baptiste Elias and Kemi Seba to agitate public opinion", widely shared the web activists supporting the cantor of the rupture. Like them, Kimber McDonald entered the dance by attacking Kemi Seba.

“Since Kemi Seba barked, what solution has this griot already brought to Africans, let alone Beninese?" , she asked before settling her account with Jean Batiste Elias. "For Jean-Baptiste Elias, tell him that the people of Benin have decided to no longer follow men without landmarks", one can read on his Facebook page.

But it was without counting on the anger of Internet users and loyal allies of the activist and pan-Africanist Kemi Seba who were unleashed in commentary to defend their leader. For them, Kemi Seba, because of his fights for African sovereignty does not deserve such treatment.

“Kemi Seba has done too much for Africa… If we open this debate, we will not end today. On this, Excellent Sunday mom", commented a user. Like him, others urged Kimber not to involve Kemi Seba in these baseless attacks. “You have value, don't tarnish your image. Otherwise you will read the time”, warns another.

“Kemi Seba don’t bark…”

And to an activist and fan of Kemi Seba to clarify: “Kémi Séba does not bark. It moves the lines and generates important debates. If he had no impact on the community, African elites were not going to fear him. We can decide not to see the impact of his struggles but we are normally obliged to recognize that he has sparked the debate on the issue of the CFA which impoverishes the countries of French-speaking Africa,” explained a journalist.

For him, even if the CFA is still in circulation, the majority of African youth now know that this currency is part of what sets countries back in their development. “Even the great economists supported this. We may not agree with him (Kemi Seba Editor's note) on certain things, but it's a downright insult to say that he barks huh. Everyone chooses their path and their struggle. He made his choice and assumes it", he insisted.

In this case, Kimber McDonald announced a complaint against a political actor, candidate for past legislative elections who attacked her still on the social network Facebook.
